LET’S TALK PRAGUE WEDDINGS

I believe that when compared to Lake Como and Paris, Prague is still somewhat underestimated as a wedding destination. But that’s a huge mistake!

I can’t imagine a more romantic place with such rich history, offering an intimate and welcoming atmosphere for its visitors, all while being incredibly safe. The city offers breathtaking views from every angle – the iconic Charles Bridge, historic Old Town Square, and the majestic Prague Castle, ensuring that your wedding photos will be absolutely stunning. It’s an incredible destination to share with your guests. Lavish venues, fine dining, and fun activities on the top.

However, planning Prague wedding can be challenging, particularly when dealing with time difference and language barrier. A destination wedding planner ensures your special day unfolds seamlessly and stress-free by tapping into local expertise, addressing unforeseen challenges, and fostering connections with trusted vendors, guaranteeing a magical celebration tailored to your vision. Their role extends beyond coordination, creating an immersive, unforgettable experience that captures the essence of you as a couple against a picturesque backdrop.

Today, I’m sharing some insider tips to help those embarking on planning their own Prague wedding!

CHOOSE YOUR WEDDING DATE STRATEGICALLY

It’s crucial to select your wedding date carefully, taking into account hotel and flight availability, especially for your guests. Summer (June -August) is the high season for Prague weddings, and top vendors may get booked quickly.

Keep in mind that most hotels have air conditioning  and many historical buildings as well. (I feel you my dear Americans 🙂 ) If not, they provide a comfortable indoor temperature even in the hot summer because of their thick walls.

You may also consider a spring or fall wedding or embrace the magic of a winter wedding and enjoy the streets sprinkled by snow or even the unique atmosphere of Christmas. Imagine holding a cup of mulled wine and strolling the old magical Christmas market in Prague.

GO FOR A SYMBOLIC CEREMONY

While a legal civil ceremony is technically possible in Prague and we can help you with the process, it involves submitting documents and being present in the city several days prior to the wedding. Opting for a legally binding ceremony at home followed by a symbolic ceremony in the Czech Republic allows you to fully enjoy Prague without the hassle.

CREATE AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE

An experienced planner brings profound knowledge of your wedding destination, from good fit venues to local customs and seasonal weather expectations. They facilitate crucial tasks like site visits and tastings, ensuring a smooth planning process, free from language barriers and time zone issues. As a Prague wedding planner I often recommend  a boat cruise in the evening before the wedding. It can be an option for a welcome drink or dinner. And it’s a fun way to enjoy the city and mingle.

ARRANGE A SUNRISE PRE-WEDDING PHOTO SHOOT

Capture the iconic backdrops of Charles Bridge or the Old Clock without the crowds by scheduling an early morning photoshoot, allowing you to experience the city in its serene beauty.

HAVE A PLAN FOR  ANY WEATHER

Given Prague’s occasionally unpredictable weather, it’s wise to have a plan B for any outdoor elements of your wedding. With fantastic alternatives and our knowledge of hidden gems, we’re delighted to guide couples in exploring backup options!
