A Goth Wedding in Prague: A Darkly Romantic Celebration

Not every wedding has to be romantic in the traditional sense. Some couples are drawn to darker aesthetics, unusual details, and places with a little mystery. And Prague is a wonderful city for exactly that kind of wedding.

I had the pleasure of planning this wedding for an American couple who wanted something that felt true to them. We chose Kaiserstein Palace for both the ceremony and the reception. Its historic Baroque interiors provided an elegant backdrop for the gothic-inspired decorations, and the whole setting came together beautifully.

Wedding Portraits at Prague’s Mysterious Grotto

One of my favourite parts of planning this wedding was finding the right location for the couple’s portraits. I suggested the grotto in Waldstein Garden, with its strange, almost eerie stalactite wall. It looks like something straight out of a Dracula movie, definitely not your usual wedding backdrop, and all the more interesting for it.

I love finding places like this for my couples. Prague has so much more to offer than its famous squares and romantic streets, and sometimes the most memorable photographs come from the most unexpected locations.

A Wedding That Felt True to the Couple

This wedding was a great example of how a couple can bring their own style into a historic setting without compromising either. And that’s what made it so special.
