Once-in-a-lifetime Experience

As a wedding planner, my goal has always been to craft dream weddings for couples, but when I was approached by Kristen and Adam to plan their destination wedding at Savoia Castle near Prague, I knew this was going to be an extraordinary experience. Kristen and Adam had a unique vision for their big day; they didn’t just want a wedding ceremony; they wanted an entire vacation experience for themselves, their families, and friends. They aimed to create memories that would last a lifetime for everyone involved, turning their wedding into an epic, once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Personalized Wedding Experience

My ultimate goal with every couple I work with, is to create an unforgettable journey leading up to their big day. So I wanted Kristen and Adam to experience everything from the preparation as a standard couple does – from menu tasting and cake tasting to a hair and makeup trial and a pre-wedding photoshoot.

In addition,  I transitioned from being a destination wedding planner to arranging bookings to crafting a week-long itinerary filled with exciting activities and events, every detail was meticulously planned to ensure a seamless and unforgettable time in Prague.

Welcome bags: Icing on the Cake

Kristen and Adam wanted to surprise the guests with welcome bags with , each containing curated local treasures: gin, a coaster with the Prague Castle illustration, fragrant tea, and hand-made cookies that were lovingly crafted by a local baker. To sweeten the deal, we included jars of raw honey harvested from the region’s lush landscapes. On top of that, the welcome bags  included also an events itinerary including QR code to get to a customised google map with pins to get the best local experience.

The Rehearsal Dinner: An Intimate Family Feast

The actual wedding festivities began with an intimate rehearsal dinner under the Linden Arch, where the couple, their families, and friends came together for a heartwarming family-style dinner. The atmosphere was relaxed and informal, just like a big family gathering. We decorated the table with some fruit and teracotta pots and installed the fairy lights on the arch to make it even more cozy and inviting. Savoia chef served delicious pizzas and paired them with fine wine.   Laughter and joy filled the air as everyone  celebrated the love between Kristen and Adam.

The Wedding Ceremony

The wedding day arrived, and the ceremony was nothing short of magical. Instead of the typical chairs, we chose a vintage sofas as the seats for all wedding guests. This unique touch added an extra dose of romance and reflected history of the castle. Under the warm sun, Kristen and Adam exchanged vows, and it was an incredibly touching and heartfelt moment. The harmonious melodies of the string trio added an extra layer of emotion, making the occasion truly unforgettable..

A Dinner in An Apple Orchard

For the wedding dinner, we transformed an apple orchard into a whimsical dining setting. Twinkling lights hung above the long table between the trees. The  table was beautifully decorated with soft garden floral arrangements and delicate accents. The scent of lavenders and the gentle breeze added to the ambiance, creating an unforgettable dining experience for all.

Authenticity and Local Culture

Authenticity played a significant role in Kristen and Adam’s destination wedding. For them, it was essential to delve beneath the surface of their chosen destination and discover its true essence. They involved local traditions, such as the breaking plate tradition and even incorporated some czech desserts, to embrace the local culture fully.

Choosing to have a smaller wedding allowed Kristen and Adam to focus on the people who truly mattered in their lives. By gathering their closest family and friends, they created an intimate atmosphere that truly felt like a celebration of love and togetherness.

The food, and wow moments were tailored to match their tastes, leaving a lasting impression on everyone involved. Kristen and Adam wanted to ensure that their guests were not just attending a wedding; they were partaking in an experience like no other.

A Customized Backdrop for the Cake

I was commited to personalise every detail to make Kristen and Adam’s wedding extraordinary. So I wanted a wedding cake backdrop to be more than just a decoration. It was a tribute to the guests who came from far away to celebrate with them but it was also heartfelt tribute to the couple’s very much loved furry family members, Ollie and Roo, who couldn’t travel to Prague.  I intentionally didn’t show the couple  the design of the backdrop before the wedding because I wanted to surprise them and I was really happy that it made this moment even more touching.

Prosseco on Wheels: Vintage Prosecco Van

Another charming decoration was a vintage prosecco van decorated with beautiful flowers that allowed the guests to enjoy the bubbly drink in style. It was a detail that added an element of fun to the celebration, and the guests loved every sip.

After the heartwarming first dance in front of the old fountain, the party continued inside the Savoia Castle. The old-world charm of the castle was the perfect backdrop for an enchanting afterparty. The celebration was filled with dancing, laughter, and joy, as the couple and their guests danced the night away, making cherished memories that would last a lifetime.

Kristen and Adam share a passion for vinyl records, and to honor their love for music, the wedding guests had the opportunity to sign a vinyl record as a heartfelt gesture for the couple. This creative and sentimental touch added an element of personalization to the celebration.

Boat Cruise: Prague Magic

For the day after the wedding I organised a boat cruise so the couple and the guests can enjoy the breathtaking views of Prague’s historic landmarks and revive the wedding day.

As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the city, the guests were treated to stunning views of Prague’s iconic landmarks. From the Charles Bridge to the majestic Prague Castle, the city’s beauty unfolded before their eyes.

Pub and Bar Tour

In Prague there are many pubs I can recommend if you want to taste czech beer or 9 beers, the average number Czechs have in one sitting. The beer here is so good, and so cheap, that it’s impossible to have only one. smile In addition, there are also some interesting bars.

Kristen and Adam’s destination wedding in Prague showed the importance  and power of personalization, authenticity, and creating experiences that will be cherished forever. As a wedding planner, it was an honor to be a part of their journey, to help them turn their wedding into a group experience of a lifetime.

Their love story unfolded against the backdrop of a stunning Savoia castle, but it was the intimate moments, the shared laughter, and the joy of experiencing a new culture together that truly made this wedding an unforgettable celebration.

So, if you’re planning a destination wedding, take a page from Kristen and Adam’s book. Embrace the idea of making it an entire vacation experience. Remember, it’s not just your big day that matters; it’s the collective memories you create for yourself and your guests that will make your wedding truly epic.
